UPDATE: Der 4 eckige Blick

Well, my girlfriend and I have been to the exhibition "der 4. blick" in cologne yesterday. it´s quite good, though it´s just a small part of the real private collection you can see in the It´s called the "rectangular view" because of its various examples of early TVs: sometimes you wonder where to put the coal into, to get it working...;-) It was not, as I first thought, just about american design -no, it was rather a confrontation of "everyday-design" and art from the beginning of the 20th century until now. Especially astonishing was the timeless design of some home-enterieur: you can buy these chairs until today in every second furniture-store, and they were designed in somehow 1920-30. You even get an idea where "ikea" take its ideas from...nice to see exhibiton - not a must have!

20 years of mtv?

Not only MTV! But This Music Televisoin had much influence on the exhibition "video" in the nrw-forum in düsseldorf. It deals with the last 20 years of video- and tv clips, and shows 100 exponats of video-art. it`s just fascinating: from CUNNINGHAM to RIST:you`ll find a vast variety of different styles and designs. Very interesting to understand the common- and the contrast aspects of commercial-, music and art-videoclips. If you`ve time: VERY, VERY RECOMMENDABLE. (24.01-18.04)

Der 4 eckige Blick

The "Museum für angewandt Kunst" shows "der 4-eckige Blick". This is a cross-discipline exhibition of american art , showing interior design graphic design etc. The priveate collection can be seen 1st time in europe. My girlfriend and I will go there tomorrow, bringing you more "fresh" information.
